About Quince Jewellery
Bridging the gap between fine and fashion - Inspired by nature and art. Quince Jewellery, handmade treasures in gold, silver, gems and pearls.
Having spent many years in the jewellery and fashion business about 5 years ago Karen Borley started designing Quince Jewellery. Pieces inspired by her love of colour and ancient jewellery Karen loves that craftsmen since ancient times have used heat and hammers create delicate heirlooms. Karen wanted her jewellery to be wearable and accessible, a woman should be able to buy her own jewellery and enjoy wearing it everyday with joy and confidence. Karen’s jewellery is often a celebration of an important event - a birthday, a success or even a divorce!
Having worked in the diamond industry in my 20s she has long wrestled with the issues of ethics in the jewellery business. It is almost impossible for the whole chain to be transparent from mine to maker. Karen works with some small workshops in India where she has visited and seen the working conditions - these are small businesses not factories and the income is essential to their livelihood. Karen is particularly aware of the need to to continue to support these small businesses during the pandemic and beyond.
This is a delicate yet strong necklace that looks good either on its own or layered with other necklaces. Depending on how you choose to wear it you can choose 1 gold donut or 3; extra beads are available on request. Our chains have two settings so you can wear them at 16 or 18 inches but other lengths of chain are available on request. Wear with Carmen earrings or a bangle but because they are mixed gold and silver we think you can wear them with anything.
